SCX10 G6, District 9 edition

I love the movie District 9 (if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it) and in it, there is this bad ass military truck I want so badly. They are used by a company called Multi-National United (MNU). They are like a nefarious government organization bent on making the aliens…well…you just have to see the movie for the rest.

I took my artistic inspiration from this and the logo of the First Reaction Battalion. They are the elite commandos used as hired guns to back up MNU. I made my sticker set to stand out a little more and fit with the overall look of the Axial G6 Rubicon, arguably one of the greatest and most versatile RC platforms of all time.

I may revisit this at some point and make the door panel, armour plates on a 3D printer. we will see. For now I am quite please with the result. I are the stickers in Illustrator and had them printed on clear vinyl. I then trimmed them close but not too close.

The tires are Proline Flatiron 2.2 on Axial Rockster rims, they have memory foam inside and grip like there’s no tomorrow. I 3D printed the earth anchor hooked on the roof. You can find it here. Though not on, the LED lights in the light bar are super bright 5 mm white. they are extremely bright at 3.2v per bulb. I got them from my local electronics store. The front bumper is from RC4WD, it is quite heavy. I moved my battery to the rear and it still greatly offsets the balance to be front bias. With the battery in the front position it was flipping over under heavy breaking. It is also super solid. A big hunk o burly steel with a double roll bar. There is some Integy carbon fibre and steel drive shafts to connect those killer tires to the now full metal drive.

I could push over small trees with this puppy!
