Chevy Blazer paint inspiration.
These are some of the images I used as inspiration for the paint job on the Blazer. I really liked the two tone aspect and the colours are a little sporty and fun but still clean. It will look great when it gets dirty! I used the overprint/bleed edges that the label sheet had from the trim stickers to frame the blue stripe. Nice and clean looking.
I added the black, junkyard, repaired/replaced panel for that added degree of realism. I like that look of a used truck; it tells a story without saying a word. For the record, I think this is an ’85 paint job on an ’86 Blazer but it looks so good!!
This is going to be a SORRCA, class 1, scale competition truck when I am done with it. Here is a link to their rule formula for class 1,2 and 3 scale off road trucks, Scale Off Road Remote Control Association. Out of the box this truck scores well by their rules. Frame mounted servo and a few other design aspects makes this truck a perfect candidate for competition use. With some up grades and a full 3D interior you can earn lots of scale points. They will come in handy when you are driving the competition courses.
Off to a good looking start I’d say!
